Your attitude is exactly what the OP was writing about.

The conservative/liberal/progressive dance is how things moves forward through history without tearing the fabric of society. Sure, "resets" can disrupt the slow course of change but the left's obsessive chant about Republican's turning back the dial to the middle ages ignores the overarching advances society makes driven by the aggregate human desire to improve its circumstances.

Of course, there are still bad things happening in the world. But Republicans do not cause the vast majority of them. Ideologues do.
