Unfortunately for us all, there's little to like about the idea of marginalizing roughly half (or even 40%) of the population of the United States. Your theory is grounded in the arrogant assumption that conservatives are going to magically see the error of their ways and convert to liberal viewpoints.

As a left of center Independent I can't agree.

There's way too little respect for those with whom we disagree these days. And it threatens to tear the fabric of society apart.
