There is much evidence that humans have acted as a “governor” on the pace of technology driven change. However, the difference this time is that we have reached a point where humans are no longer the only one’s in the driver’s seat.
As artificial intelligence increases its capacity for distributed cloud-based iterative evolution, the human inability to integrate exponential change will become less of a factor. This will drive the effective rate of change increasingly toward the actual pace supportable by evolving software/hardware.
Humans will need to evolve the capacity to embrace exponential change or risk becoming irrelevant. To survive we must stop thinking of ourselves as the center of the universe.
