Or perhaps, the answer is to stop listening to everyone who, regardless of their politics, simplistically views those they disagree with as either stupid, evil or a combination. We cannot have a democracy by putting those we disagree with in concentration camps.

Democracy requires principled, respectful debate with those whom we have deep disagreement. It demands humility, curiosity and the recognition that compromise is often the only possible path to progress.

Uniting moderate, pragmatic people regardless of their party is the way forward.
