Great stuff but it’s missing a crucial point.
Performing arts have always been an industry where the demand for talented professionals is far exceeded by the supply. So, the various unions represent a small percentage of talented creative artists who have managed to break into the industry to one degree or another. But the universe of talent is much larger outside than in.
As AI matures, independent producers will have no contractual barriers to exploit the technology. The best of them will seize the opportunity to produce work by turning the conventional process on its head. They will produce content with superior production values at a mind blowing pace and do so with budgets that are orders of magnitude lower than currently possible rendering conventional production obsolete.
AI will magnify the creative capabilities of individual artists by eliminating layers of production and representation. It will cause the complete disruption of conventional business practices much sooner than expected. Just as is happening in most other sectors.
