Fabulous!

This is exactly the kind of thoughtful problem-solving that humanity's political leadership has to embrace and explore. Otherwise conflict will tip us into the next dark ages.

Humans don't do well with rapid, disruptive change (witness the various responses to COVID-19).

Liberals and conservatives quibble over the relative pace of change but technology driven economic and social change is now happening so fast that conventional governance is breaking down. It's an existential threat.

Presently, the critical need is for leadership who will help people realize we are already living in a new paradigm.

Humans think in terms of timelines like lifetimes or perhaps decades. Our career preparation paradigm still thinks in terms of preparing students for long-term "careers" in narrowly defined fields rather than versatile lifelong learners that can dynamically duck and weave.

The idea of helping the transition to a future with fewer human workers by guaranteeing they benefit from that future is critical. More critical are leaders that can express the need and make it happen!

If everyone began thinking that their job is to help eliminate their jobs rather than protect them at all costs, the transition will be much smoother. But they, quite undertandably, won't do that without sharing in the future economic benefits automation promises.
