Great stuff!

Don't forget the creative raw materials currently locked up in the conventional theater business. An industry that suffers from more denial, lack of imagination, and centralization than the legacy film and TV businesses do.

We are experimenting with producing very low-cost “teleplays” of new theatrical works. New works because there are no restrictions against hybrid productions when working directly with creative artists and unpublished scripts. Live-streamed and pre-recorded works can be used asynchronically to reach potential producers that would be interested in furthering the work.

The idea is to use good-quality (but inexpensive) multi-camera video production to support live streaming and capture of live theater with audiences. Currently, we're doing table readings and staged readings but are hoping soon to move to full productions. All in an 80-seat black box theater in Vermont. The system is designed to be so unobtrusive as to not intrude on the actor or audience experience.
