Capitalism only works when its critical inputs and outputs can function in relative balance. Machine labor, AI, etc. are stressing the supply/demand curve of human labor and soon will render it impotent as technology displacement infiltrates the economy. The logical conclusion? A collapse of demand for goods and services as income diverts away from humans. Capitalism is in danger of becoming a victim of its own success.
How capitalism addresses this earthshaking paradigm shift as the rug is being pulled out from under it will determine whether it can hold onto its place as the best of a collection of flawed systems. We need new ideas, not blind adherence to what will soon no longer work.
