50 years hence, history will show that your prediction was foreshadowed by Gordon Moore in 1965. His belief that the density of transisters would roughly double every two years have largely proven true. The resulting exponential growth in computing power is upending conventional economics, especially the supply/demand curve for human labour. As machine labour increasingly becomes a desirable substitute for humans, the income/consumption equalibrium collapses resulting in socioeconomic collapse.
It's past time for a paradigm shift. Unfortunately, politicians and pundits alike have ignored the warnings prefering to kick the can down the road.
The piper want's to be paid and our purse is empty.
